Here I complain that my kids don't eat their veggies, and other children hardly HAVE a slice of bread a day; I complain that my kids don't drink their milk, others hardly have a glass of water. I complain that they don't want to go to bed, others don't have a bed. I complain that the house is a mess of toys, other places are rubble and devastated.
And we have the privilege of raising our two children, while others can't afford it and have to send them to the orphanage. ...this list can go on an on and on...
We are thinking constantly of the people in Haiti in these hard times and can't even start to comprehend their sorrow and suffering. We feel we can't do much to help, but are so thankful for those who are going there to help those poor people, doctors and not only.
I realize more than ever how many reasons I have to be thankful and how I take many things for granted. And I realize more than ever what is the most important thing to have in this life. Our friends in Haiti have a deep joy in their heart, in spite of their natural difficulties, and this experience brought them even closer to God and helped them to value more the spiritual values they have, which are eternal. And we value so much those who are willing to go with the Gospel in any part of the world, no matter the cost. Now they are a big help there for those who need it, spiritual and natural. We pray for all people there.

So, very true, my friend! Our hearts are knit so tightly with those of our brothers in Haiti right now, but even for all of the nationals who are calling on their faith, may we pray that they find the TRUE joy and the TRUE satisfaction that our brothers and sisters have found -- even in this desolation!
Da, e adv ce spui. Ochiul e lumina trupului...
You said it perfectly...
Very beautiful thoughts, Ivona.
